Unique variety that was said to have originated and was named after one family in Mohawk NY. The original name of the variety was lost so it was named after the couple that raised it, Marty and Jean. This has quickly become one of my favorites for its strong, rich garlic flavor, an excellent all-around garlic. It is unknown exactly what type of garlic it is but has some similarities to purple - stripes.
It has medium to large, often irregular shaped heads with 8-12 beautiful russet-colored cloves inside. Cloves are typically medium sized and moderately easy to peel. Should store for 4-6 months.
